Bio

Rebecca Whittemore grew up in New Jersey, United States and relocated to Adelaide, South Australia in 2006.   She continues to exhibit her work internationally and has received numerous awards, grants and fellowships. In 2010 she received an Independent Makers & Presenters grant from the state government of South Australia. As part of the South Australian Living Arts Festival she has won awards for best photographic work, the 2009 Centre for Creative Photography Latent Image Award and in 2007 Atkins Technicolor Photographic Award. She has also been a finalist in many prestigious Australian awards including Swan Hill Print and Drawing Award, Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award and The Churchie National Emerging Art Exhibition.

Rebecca received a BA from Richard Stockton Collage of New Jersey and a MFA in Photography and Digital Imaging from Maryland Institute College of Art. She has been an Artist in Residence at Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, Oregon and at Saint Ignatius’ College in South Australia.
