What the Kitchen Forgets
In this series, I transform food waste, into fine art, uncovering unexpected beauty in what is often overlooked. I scan and enlarge kitchen scraps, revealing intricate textures and organic forms that might otherwise go unnoticed. Some remnants, such as wilting vegetable skins, are deliberately left to age before I scan them, deepening my exploration of time, decay and transformation.
By presenting these fragments in a striking and intimate way, I invite viewers to reflect on their own consumption habits and the hidden environmental impact of everyday choices. My process bridges historical and digital practices, using a flatbed scanner to create contemporary interpretations of the photogram tradition. The resulting Giclée prints give discarded matter new life, transforming waste into art.
